Mediation, ADR, Alternative Dispute Resolution Services

Andronicos is researching the feasibility of remote mediation as a way to resolving disputes. It is very similar to ‘traditional face to face mediation’, except the parties use high tech tools to communicate with each other. As this is a research project, there is no fee involved.

There are 7 steps involved to undertake remote ADR:

  1. Both parties must agree to take part in the experiment. They must install Azam as well as video conferencing software on their respective PCs. No charge is made for this.
  2. Both parties should describe their dispute in a separate, confidential voice email. The recorded voice clips sent to Andronicos or to one of his associates are not shared with the parties in dispute.
  3. Andronicos (or his associate) listen to the recordings and create a typed summary of the dispute. It is emailed to the parties in dispute, for approval.
  4. A summary of the scope of the problem is approved by both parties.
  5. Confidential discussions with both parties take place via video link. (Note: this step may involve several video link sessions, usually on a one to one basis.) Andronicos suggests ways to resolve the dispute.
  6. When agreement is reached, a legally binding document is produced for signature.
  7. The dispute is resolved. All recordings are deleted.

Please note: it is possible to use remote mediation for expensive commercial or personal disputes, but not legally complicated ones. This research project is not offered for matrimonial disputes.

An exploratory conversation will identify if it would be better for the parties to use an on-site ‘traditional’ mediation service.
